ROLE
UI/UX Design
DURATION
5 Weeks
(02)
Every project runs through the same focused stages, so nothing important gets skipped.
Phase 01
Research & discovery
A survey with 30 parents, caregivers and educators, plus a review of Otismo and Leeloo to find gaps in personalisation and sensory support.
Phase 02
Define & structure
Personas and empathy maps for a child, a parent and an educator, then information architecture and low-fidelity wireframes focused on flow.
Phase 03
Design & test
A calm style guide, five learning buddies, high-fidelity screens and a prototype, refined through usability testing.
(03)
Design explorations, layouts and visual directions that shaped the final product.

(04)
Autistic children often struggle with learning apps that are loud, busy and built one way for everyone. Few of them offer the customisation that kids with dyslexia or ADHD need, so many children end up tired, confused and disengaged.
That makes it harder to build skills like communication, independence and emotional regulation. Parents feel it too. They want progress updates and simple tools, not more clutter.
What research told us
90% wanted content that adapts to each child
80% said their children respond well to rewards and points
60% preferred visual learning aids over text-heavy instruction
Only 33.3% said their child stays engaged past 20 minutes, mostly when the environment is calm
(05)
