Phase 01
Research & define
A survey, empathy maps and personas for beginner creators and pro editors, then user stories, a journey map and a competitor review.
Phase 02
Ideate & structure
Crazy Eights and How Might We sessions, a full user flow and a sitemap covering onboarding, import, AI analysis, editing, preview and export.
Phase 03
Prototype & test
Sketches and wireframes moved into a dark, focused high-fidelity interface, then usability testing and a round of fixes from the feedback.

Most video editors make you find empty space by hand. You scrub the timeline, spot the silence, trim it, and repeat for every clip. It is slow, and the people we spoke to were openly frustrated by how much of their week it ate.
Our users ranged from Gift, a 19-year-old student creator who wants simple tools that don't overwhelm her, to Samson, a freelance editor who wants AI help but refuses to give up control of the final cut.
The goal
Use AI to detect empty space automatically and cut manual trimming time by at least 75%, without taking the editor's judgement out of the process.

Clipnova scans every clip you import and flags the parts that add nothing. Each flag is a suggestion. You can accept it, adjust it or ignore it, and the whole AI layer can be switched off when you want to work by hand.

A full timeline editor with trims, titles, transitions, audio, effects and overlays, plus a before and after preview so editors can check every AI change before export.
